English
There is no island like Bougainville (X2). They admire Bougainville. They want Bougainville. Paradise Bouaginville, Paradise Bougainville.

Note on recording:
At the time I had to travel very light, and in my planning I had to allow for the fact that I could have gear taken from me at any point of my travels. As such I went in with only a DV tape camera, Tascam Digital Tape recorder and a stereo mike, lots of batteries and "not enough" tapes. The bamboo bases were so loud that they drownded out the singing. Because of the importance of the words at this time, I tended to point the mike close and straight at the singers. For this reason some of the quality of the bamboos were lost relative to other later studio recordings. Sorry, but this is an historical document. It was all recorded on location, in the villages and bush clearings (see my Personall Diary). - Justin Tonti
